In this role you will be working to develop, mature and document designs, test and qualify avionics components, and work with external vendors to support manufacturing. Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalfKey job responsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:- Lead mechanical design of new components for the program.- Develop hardware and component level requirements/specifications.- Oversee and participate in testing and qualifying mechanical subsystems including DO-160.- Support and update existing mechanical designs and processes.- Find creative technical approaches to encourage frugality and to invent and simplify.Basic qualifications- BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience- Experience in manual testing, test planning, and creating detailed test cases- Experience with CAD software for use in design, drafting, and product lifecycle management.Preferred qualification - Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume- Experience in electronics and/or aerospace hardware.- CATIA/ENOVIA experience.- DO-160 qualification and aerospace formal verification experience.- Experience with requirements development and documentation.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
