Description: Ratios are 1 to 1. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner Surginet. Report to the Clinical Supervisor; also have an OR Director and OR Manager. OR Technicians are available. Weekend coverage is managed by call. Holiday coverage is also managed by call. Call is 1 to 2 weeknights per week, with weekend call approximately once a month from the end of the shift on Friday to 6:30 am Monday. Scrubs are provided. Telemonitoring systems are Phillips. Ventilators are available. There is no in-house hospitalist or intensivist. The respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts can vary: 8-hour (6:30 am - 3 pm), 10-hour, or 12-hour shifts. Mid-shifts start at 9 am or 10:45 am. There is no floating between units. Floor-specific orientation lasts one shift with a preceptor. Common diagnoses and types of patients include all types of cases except transplant, CVOR, CABG, valves, pacemakers, lead extractions, lung cases, as well as ortho, general, vascular, neuro, spine, ENT, and trauma cases. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment, and 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks. No trauma level specified. Care setting is acute.
