The role’s primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, prepare and serve food and beverages items to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner in accordance with quality standards. The Bartender must maintain supplies and follow established cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.**Job Description****Work Environment*** Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.* Majority of work takes place indoors.* Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. kitchens, freezers.**Physical Demands*** Must be able work in a fast-paced environment.* Majority of work takes place indoors.* Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. freezers, loading dock.**Expected Hours of Work*** Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.* Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).* Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required..**Education and Experience*** Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.* Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.* High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.**Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:*** Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.* Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar.* Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.* Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, utensils are properly set up in accordance with quality standards.* Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.* Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. system.* Clean and reset bartop and tables immediately after guests depart.* Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.* Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas.* Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.* Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.* Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.**Additional Job Information/Anticipated****Pay Range****Benefits**Sonesta recognizes that benefits play a vital role in helping ensure the health and financial security of employees and their families.
