Express Employment Professionals is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Takeoff Estimator / Assistant Estimator for a Local client in Fort Pierce, FL. They are a dynamic, fast-growing construction and environmental services company specializing in Environmental Remediation, Airport Civil Construction, Transmission Line Access Roads, Heavy Civil Road & Bridge Construction, Substation Sitework, and Nuclear Storage Facilities. Our projects are diverse, critical to infrastructure development, and executed with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on large-scale, high-impact projects across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:Data Gathering & Analysis:
Assist in collecting and analyzing project data, including reviewing drawings and specifications, and sourcing pricing from vendors and subcontractors.Quantity Takeoffs:
Accurately perform material and labor quantity takeoffs using CAD and Agtek software.Cost Estimation:
Support the development of detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.Bid Preparation:
Help prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, ensuring all forms and requirements are completed accurately.Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates, bid documentation, and project cost data.Communication:
Collaborate closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure accurate and timely information exchange during the estimating process.Software Proficiency:
Utilize construction estimating software along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), CAD, and Agtek tools.Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative assistance to the estimating department, including file management and scheduling support.
- Associate’s degree or relevant coursework in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in construction estimating or a similar support role 3 YEARS PREFERRED (experience in heavy civil construction is a plus).
- Familiarity with CAD, Agtek, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines.
