We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our gastroenterology team. The NP will primarily provide follow-up care for established patients, with an emphasis on medication reconciliation, ongoing symptom management, treatment follow-up, and coordination of care.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with our gastroenterologist and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct follow-up visits for established patients.
• Review patient histories, symptoms, diagnostic results, and treatment plans.
• Perform comprehensive medication reconciliation and identify potential medication-related concerns.
• Assess and manage ongoing GI-related symptoms and chronic conditions within the NP's scope of practice.
• Monitor patients' response to treatment and make appropriate adjustments or recommendations.
• Review and discuss laboratory, imaging, endoscopy, pathology, and other diagnostic results with patients as appropriate.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, dietary considerations, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Address routine patient questions and concerns and determine when additional evaluation or physician consultation is indicated.
• Coordinate care and communicate with gastroenterologists, primary care providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Order or recommend appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies within scope and practice protocols.
• Assist with management of common gastroenterology conditions, including GERD, IBS, constipation, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, liver-related conditions, and other GI disorders.
• Document patient encounters, assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide appropriate referrals or escalate care when clinically indicated.
• Participate in maintaining continuity of care and ensuring appropriate follow-up for patients.
• Perform other clinical duties consistent with the role of a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner.

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Prior clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate clinical documentation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
