Position Summary
The Accounting Intern supports a variety of functions within the department to gain hands-on experience and to cultivate the individual’s professional accounting skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Assists in reconciling statements and identifying discrepancies
- Reconciles general ledger accounts to prepare for monthly financial reporting
- Maintains print and electronic records for certificates of insurance documentation
- Prepares, compiles, and sorts documents for data entry
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the Company’s accounting and financial records
- Completes assigned tasks or projects to gain insight into accounting and office operations
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with low noise levels
- Prolonged periods of sitting required
- Rarely required to walk, stand, lift, climb, pull, or push objects weighing up to 10 pounds
