Mechanical EngineerLocation: Lockport, LAPosition Overview:A Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design of a vessel's propulsion and auxiliary systems, piping and HVAC.Key Responsibilities:Actively interfaces with other engineering disciplines and production departmentsPrepares purchase technical specificationsDirects designers in the development of functional drawingsDirects and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems for use onboard vesselsResearches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or applicationGuides personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of testing methods and proceduresEnsures that products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specificationsMay design products and systems to interface machines, hardware, and softwareOther duties assigned or requested by Management.Qualifications:2+ years' working experience with Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR 10+ years relevant industry experience. Shipyard experience is preferred.Skills:Skills in mechanical engineering, project management, and problem-solving are essential.
