Looking for a new opportunity? A Suffolk based manufacturer is seeking a Safety Manager to join their talented team of professionals. This position is 100% on site (no remote options available); day shift and is benefit eligible. Your day to day will be busy and highly accountable with duties including but not limited to: Responsible for maintaining, developing, implementing, and enforcing safety and environmental plans.Perform safety and environmental risk assessments of new equipment and processes to observe possible unsafe conditions.Coordinate and ensure the proper handling, storage and disposal of the different waste streams Prepare and submit safety and environmental reports to the government agencies such as OSHA, EPA, NYSDEC, SCDPH, SCDPW, Fire Department and Town Offices. Responsible for many permits and licenses to support the facility. Administer the safety training program Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.Interact with workers to help identify safety and health issues within the company and provide senior management recommendations for improvements.Assist in coordinating and completing required audits.Perform emergency evacuation training and required fire drills by building and shifts.Oversee the distribution program of first aid supplies and safety PPE.Oversee the industrial truck licensing program. Review contracts and/or proposals and obtain approval signatures for all Safety and Environmental related PO's.Oversee compliance of fire equipment required inspections and maintenance. (Emergency lighting, Fire alarm, Fire Sprinkler System and Fire pumps) To succeed in the role, you must bring:Minimum 3 years of experience in safety and/or environmental required.Minimum associate degree and OSHA 30 Certificate. Previous management experience Bi-Lingual Spanish/English RequiredThe salary listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
