Troutman Amin LLP provides compliance guidance on federal and state laws across the United States and can assist with litigation in many jurisdictions through pro hac vice admission. The firm operates multiple offices to support client needs and maintains a culture that values in-person collaboration while remaining ready to travel to meet client and case demands. Role Description The Associate Lawyer will be a full-time, on-site team member based in Irvine, CA, working closely with partners and other attorneys on complex federal litigation and privacy-related matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and revising pleadings, motions, and briefs; conducting legal research on privacy, telecom, and other regulatory issues; and assisting in discovery, including document review, analysis, and preparation of discovery responses. The role involves participating in case strategy meetings, preparing materials for hearings and trials, and communicating with clients under supervision to gather facts and provide case updates. The Associate Lawyer will also support compliance advisory work by analyzing statutes and regulations, preparing memoranda and client alerts, and helping develop practical guidance for clients operating in highly regulated environments. Qualifications Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to draft clear, persuasive pleadings, motions, and memoranda. Experience or demonstrated interest in complex litigation, federal court practice, and civil procedure. Knowledge or strong interest in privacy, data protection, and telecommunications law, with the ability to learn emerging legal frameworks quickly. Proficiency in document review, evidence analysis, and discovery management, including familiarity with e-discovery tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and sound legal judgment. Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work closely with partners, colleagues, and clients in a fast-paced environment. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar (California bar admission or willingness to obtain it preferred). Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks while maintaining high-quality work product. Professional integrity, commitment to client service, and openness to mentorship and ongoing professional development.
