Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Alternating 7:00–19:00 and 11:00–23:00 | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department with mixed/shared acuity levels at a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement as required skills for all RNs in this department
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and continuous IV paralytics
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, administer blood products, and provide procedural sedation
• Perform central line care and management, CVA response, and maintain isolation precautions
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Minimal time-off requests; candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off cannot be submitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with block scheduling in a travel or contract capacity
