Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain C++ systems and features for the mobile game on iOS and Android.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning game code, Unreal Engine, native mobile platforms, and platform-specific integrations.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, art, QA, production, and other partners to deliver player experiences.
- Lead mobile technical initiatives, architectural decisions, technical design reviews, coding standards, and code reviews.
- Improve mobile game performance, memory usage, stability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Improve tooling, testing, build, deployment, packaging, and release processes.
- Mentor engineers and raise the broader team's technical capabilities.
- Participate in the team's on-call and support rotation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in mobile, game development, or related fields.
- Significant professional experience developing and debugging native applications or systems on iOS and/or Android.
- Strong proficiency with C++ in a mobile, game, or performance-sensitive environment.
- Experience diagnosing issues across application, engine, platform, and native-code boundaries.
- Experience debugging, profiling, and optimizing mobile applications or games, including performance, memory, stability, and device-specific issues.
- Experience with a game engine such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, make architectural decisions, and solve complex problems with broad or ambiguous requirements.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, design, art, QA, and production disciplines.
- Ability to collaborate with teams distributed across multiple time zones.
- Product sense, pragmatism, and player empathy in technical decision-making.
- Familiarity with iterative development practices such as Agile or Scrum.
- BS in Computer Science or proven understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Desired qualifications include deep native iOS and/or Android expertise, Unreal Engine engine-level C++ experience, experience resolving Unreal/native mobile boundary issues, and familiarity with mobile build, packaging, deployment, and release pipelines.
- Familiarity with Teamfight Tactics is desirable.
