Civil Engineer

Duties
Collaborate closely with Department and Rural Utilities Service (RUS) officials in planning, developing, and promulgating scientific, economic and technical guidelines on national water and waste engineering issues.
Formulate comments and recommendations based on analyses contained in studies of proposed civil and environmental projects involving risk management.
Provide advice on complex technical issues pertaining to engineering aspects of water and wastewater treatment, solid waste disposal, and nonpoint source pollution.
Conduct field visits to observe actual trends and conditions, to implement approved policies and procedures and to resolve problems arising from program activities.
