Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) ICU/PCU night shift position. This role requires a motivated individual willing to float to Med-Surg units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and identify patients' and significant others' educational needs, providing tailored education using appropriate modalities.
Implement patient safety measures, including the proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment, adhering to restraint policies and ensuring thorough documentation.
Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of equipment within the PCU, Telemetry, and Med-Surg areas, following troubleshooting techniques and access to equipment manuals as necessary.
Implement and document infection control and isolation procedures effectively, ensuring standard precautions are observed at all times.
Maintain accurate, complete, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses throughout the assigned shift.
Accurately document charges and complete physicians' orders promptly, performing a 24-hour check of orders when part of assigned duties.
Provide comprehensive and accurate change-of-shift reports to incoming staff members.
Facilitate clear and effective communication with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians in a timely manner, following established policies.
Maintain and restock emergency carts, patient rooms, and general supplies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Active WA State or Multi-State RN license required.
Extensive experience in all relevant nursing areas is necessary.
