Trainee Manager

The Trainee Manager position offers a unique opportunity to engage in a comprehensive training program aimed at developing in-depth knowledge of Sonic restaurant operations. This role, guided by an experienced General Manager, focuses on crucial aspects such as finance, staff management, and customer service, preparing candidates for future advancement to a General Manager position. Key responsibilities include: Assisting the General Manager with day-to-day operations and driving revenue growth. Overseeing daily store activities, maintaining cleanliness, managing inventory, and coordinating schedules. Learning to analyze P&L (profit & loss) statements, managing payroll, controlling expenses, and monitoring revenue. Utilizing metrics to assess Drive-In performance and implement necessary improvements. Supporting recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members. Celebrating team successes and guiding for enhanced performance. Setting clear expectations and providing ongoing feedback. Creating a lively and positive work environment to enhance employee satisfaction. Helping team members understand their roles in the larger context by clearly communicating the purpose behind tasks. Collaborating with the General Manager to establish community outreach programs that contribute to sales growth and brand awareness. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws. Upholding company standards for food safety, handling, and sanitation to protect the health and safety of customers and employees. Performing additional job-related duties as assigned or required. Qualifications/skills include: Excellent communication, mathematical, and analytical skills, vital for effective scheduling, budgeting, and conflict resolution. Ability to maintain a positive and effective leadership style, particularly during peak times and under pressure. Resiliency to explore different approaches to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement. Strong prioritization skills to complete tasks efficiently. Availability of approximately 50 hours per week, with flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and closing hours. Education and/or experience: 2-3 years of experience in general management within the food service or hospitality industries. Associate degree in business or a related field is preferred. Willingness to relocate for available store openings after successful training, within a minimum of a 45-mile radius of home base. Current certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus. Essential physical functions: Ability to work a minimum of 50 hours weekly. Able to stand or walk for 8-10 hours daily on average. Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, handling, and data entry. Ability to work in varying environments, both indoor and outdoor, in different temperatures.
