Mobile Insurance Examiner / Phlebotomist — Flexible Independent Contractor Opportunity

Are you looking for flexible work that allows you to manage your own schedule? We are seeking dependable mobile examiners and phlebotomists to perform insurance examinations, specialty blood draws and wellness services throughout northwestern and western North Carolina.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced phlebotomist, CMA, healthcare professional or mobile examiner who wants to earn additional income while choosing the territory and appointment times that work best for their schedule.

Available territories include:

Catawba, Iredell, Burke, Watauga, Wilkes, Yadkin, Stokes, Ashe, Alleghany and Surry counties.

You are not required to cover every county. Please identify the counties you are interested in servicing when applying.

Services may include:

• Mobile life-insurance examinations
• Medical-history interviews
• Height, weight, blood-pressure and pulse measurements
• Blood and urine specimen collections
• Specialty blood draws using different collection kits and protocols
• On-site employee wellness events
• Accurate and timely completion of paperwork and specimen submissions

Schedule and workload:

• Flexible independent contractor position
• Examiners arrange appointments directly with applicants based on mutual availability
• Approximately 10–15 appointments may be available per week, depending on seasonal demand and assigned territory
• Appointment and event volume varies and is not guaranteed
• Contractors must provide at least two half-days of Saturday availability each month

Compensation and travel:

• Compensation is based on the services performed
• Some companies reimburse mileage; however, most appointments do not include mileage reimbursement
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout your selected service area are required

Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy or Certified Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required
• Must be skilled and confident in performing blood draws
• Must be comfortable following instructions for different specialty collection kits
• Must be professional when working in applicants’ homes, workplaces and company wellness events
• Dependability, good communication, attention to detail and accurate paperwork are essential

Required equipment:

Contractors must provide their own:

• Scale
• Tape measure
• Blood-pressure cuff
• Stethoscope

Up to two butterfly needles may be provided per month upon request. Examiners are responsible for providing any additional butterfly needles they need.
