Work Environment

This full-time position is based at our San Francisco hospital facility, which features state-of-the-art equipment and a collaborative atmosphere. You will work alongside a dynamic team of healthcare professionals in an onsite setting, providing a rich environment for hands-on learning and professional development. Typical hours for this role will be from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet patient needs and support ongoing clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in executing individualized treatment plans designed to address specific patient needs.
• Perform routine therapeutic procedures as outlined in treatment protocols, incorporating exercises, modalities, and manual therapy techniques.
• Monitor and document patient progress by observing and recording conditions, reactions, and responses during therapy sessions.
• Communicate effectively with the supervising therapist, reporting any significant findings, progress, or patient concerns promptly.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital and legal standards to support continuity of care.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by fostering a compassionate and encouraging therapy environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist Assistant at Consonus will primarily engage with adult patients facing orthopedic challenges and chronic pain conditions. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and various musculoskeletal disorders, allowing you to impact their recovery significantly.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
• Possession of a current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license in California, or qualification to obtain one.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a clinical physical therapy setting is preferred, ideally within a hospital environment.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems and familiarity with documentation requirements in a healthcare facility.

Compensation and Benefits
