Director of Supply Chain Solutions (ONSITE) Relay Resources – Portland, OR Motus Recruiting and Staffing is proud to partner with Relay Resources in its search for a Director of Supply Chain Solutions. Disabled people / people with disabilities and neurodivergent people are strongly encouraged to apply. Relay Resources is seeking a strategic, business-minded Director of Supply Chain Solutions to lead the operational and financial performance of its growing social enterprise. This newly created role will drive scalability, efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth while advancing Relay’s mission of creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This is more than a traditional supply chain leadership role. The Director will take an enterprise-level view of operations, contracts, capacity, staffing, pricing, profitability, and customer opportunities, determining which work aligns with Relay’s capabilities and long-term strategy. The ideal leader will bring strong operational expertise with a commercial and financial mindset and a proven ability to optimize and scale complex operations. The Director will oversee approximately 50 employees and four direct reports, partnering closely with Sales, Contracts, Finance, Disability Inclusion, IT, and Operations/Production. The role will strengthen processes and performance while positioning Supply Chain Solutions for larger, longer-term, and more sustainable federal and commercial opportunities. A key priority is balancing business performance with social impact—building a financially sustainable operation while maintaining Relay’s commitment to inclusive employment. The Director will build upon the strong operational foundation established by the current Production Manager and team, bringing a more strategic, enterprise-level perspective to the function. The Director will ultimately be accountable for the operational and financial performance of Supply Chain Solutions and for building the strategy, infrastructure, and partnerships needed to support sustainable growth. Job Location: Portland, OR DIRECT HIRE! Salary: $127k – 165k base (DOE) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead Supply Chain Solutions’ daily operations and strategic direction, aligning performance with financial and inclusion goals. Optimize logistics, distribution, transportation, capacity, staffing, productivity, quality, and costs. Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and operational performance. Standardize scalable processes, SOPs, and workflows. Lead continuous improvement, cost reduction, quality, and productivity initiatives. Manage the department budget, inventory, and operational controls; ensure policy and regulatory compliance. Evaluate projects and contracts for profitability, feasibility, capacity, and long-term sustainability. Partner with Sales to pursue opportunities aligned with capabilities, workforce, and growth strategy. Shift the business toward larger, recurring, and sustainable contracts that strengthen revenue and margins. Partner with Finance and Contracts on pricing, proposals, invoicing, margins, and contract profitability. Serve as the Supply Chain Solutions subject matter expert for bids, proposals, and contract revisions. Lead customer onboarding from contract award through implementation and operational readiness. Strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth and revenue optimization. Team & Disability-Inclusive Leadership Lead and develop supervisors, team leads, trainers, and support staff to drive performance and engagement. Oversee hiring, training, development, and performance management across the department. Foster a supportive, inclusive, and strength-based culture aligned with Relay’s mission and values. Integrate disability inclusion into staffing, training, operations, accommodations, and employee support. Partner with Disability Inclusion to ensure employees have the tools and resources needed to succeed. Coach and mentor leaders while modeling Relay’s values and leadership expectations. Cross-Functional & Customer Partnership Partner with Sales, Contracts, Finance, IT, Disability Inclusion, and Operations/Production to drive business performance and growth. Develop operational plans and scope-of-service proposals for new opportunities. Identify improvements to contracts, service delivery, pricing, and profitability. Maintain strong customer and internal stakeholder relationships. Communicate key operational, financial, customer, and staffing updates to leadership. Drive ongoing improvements in processes, systems, service delivery, scalability, quality, and financial performance. Perform other duties as needed to support Supply Chain Solutions and Relay Resources. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years of progressive operations leadership in supply chain, production, warehousing, logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, or related environments, with demonstrated success scaling and optimizing operations. Commercial and business acumen, including experience evaluating projects/contracts for scope, capacity, profitability, feasibility, and sustainability; $50K+ engagements preferred. Proven expertise in process improvement and operational excellence, including Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, or similar methodologies. Experience managing complex, recurring, or project-based contracts, ideally in federal/GSA, B2B fulfillment, packaging, manufacturing, automotive supply chain, or large-scale logistics. Strong cross-functional partnership with Sales, Finance, Contracts, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive growth, pricing, operational efficiency, and profitability. Inclusive, mission-driven leadership with a commitment to meaningful employment for people with disabilities and experience working with diverse teams. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to travel to customer sites with reliable transportation. Ability to maintain confidentiality and successfully complete required background screening. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience a plus. ISO 9000 experience, particularly in production or administrative environments. Background in supply chain, production, fulfillment, packaging, manufacturing, or logistics operations.
