The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs is looking for someone who is motivated, pays attention to details, and can work with data and solve problems. As a Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist in the Bureau of Program Licensure, Division of Licensing Inspection, you will help support people in Pennsylvania who are getting treatment for substance use disorder. Join our team and help make a positive impact in the community! This position travels frequently in the Central region of Pennsylvania. Description of Work This position supports the safety and quality of drug and alcohol treatment programs throughout Pennsylvania by reviewing facilities, documents, and practices. Your work ensures individuals receive care in an environment that follows important laws and standards. As a Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Regulation Review: Evaluate treatment programs and facility operations to check for compliance with federal and state standards Record Analysis: Examine policies, administrative documents, and client files to verify that required materials are complete and accurate Staff Qualification Checks: Assess credentials, education, and experience of staff to ensure they meet regulatory expectations Facility Inspection: Inspect buildings and safety features to confirm that the environment is suitable for treatment services Technical Support: Provide guidance to facility staff on regulatory requirements and improvements to program operations Documentation Preparation: Prepare clear reports and materials that identify noncompliance and support legal proceedings when necessary Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch Frequent travel including overnight will be required Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered.
