Buyer - Manufacturing Location: Valley Park, MO Job Type: Temporary Contract - 6-9 Months Schedule: Onsite We're looking for an experienced Buyer to support a busy manufacturing operation in the Valley Park area. This is a hands-on purchasing role focused on keeping materials available for production, managing supplier activity, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels. What You'll Do Purchase components, materials, supplies, and MRO items needed to support production Create, manage, and adjust purchase orders based on material requirements Use MRP information to monitor demand and purchasing needs Follow up with suppliers regarding availability, lead times, and delivery schedules Help identify and resolve material shortages that could impact production Monitor inventory levels and support inventory control efforts Maintain purchasing and planning information within the ERP/MRP system Negotiate pricing, lead times, and other supplier terms Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Track supplier performance and help address delivery or quality concerns Identify opportunities for cost savings and purchasing improvements Work closely with production, planning, inventory, quality, and other internal teams What We're Looking For Previous purchasing or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience working with an MRP/ERP system Experience managing purchase orders, suppliers, inventory, and material requirements Understanding of how purchased components and materials flow through a manufacturing operation Comfortable working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with both suppliers and internal teams #J-18808-Ljbffr RIM Recruitment Professionals
