Mid-Level Software Engineer / C# and C++

A Chicago based proprietary trading firm is hiring a Software Engineer to help maintain, improve, and modernize the internal systems that power its live trading operations. This is a full time position working on production critical infrastructure where performance, correctness, and reliability matter every day. Rather than rapid iteration or constant rewrites, this team focuses on careful engineering, long lived systems, and clear ownership. Engineers are trusted with meaningful responsibility and encouraged to fully understand the systems they support. The Role You’ll work across a mix of C++ services running on Linux , scripting and automation, and selected modernization efforts in C#/.NET . Engineers collaborate directly with business stakeholders and senior technologists, contributing ideas as well as code. Production exposure is real but measured, with an emphasis on learning and improving systems rather than firefighting.
