Quality & Finishing Supervisor

A long-standing industrial equipment manufacturer in the Round Lake, IL area is seeking a Quality & Finishing Supervisor to join its team.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing quality systems, inspections, corrective actions, final testing, and finishing operations in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. The right candidate will be comfortable working closely with production, engineering, testing, and leadership to ensure products are built safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a strong safety and quality culture
• Manage and improve the Quality Management System
• Oversee nonconforming material, corrective actions, and quality documentation
• Supervise in-process inspections, final inspections, and testing activities
• Coordinate third-party audits and maintain required records
• Schedule and manage workflow within Finishing and Test departments
• Train, coach, and mentor team members on quality standards and best practices
• Develop and report quality metrics to leadership
• Use data and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with customer, build, and quality requirements
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering discipline preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Experience with nonconforming material, corrective actions, inspections, audits, and quality metrics
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
• Experience with process improvement, process mapping, and root cause analysis
• Exposure to testing, finishing, or final inspection operations preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
