Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements: Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs. Support selling initiatives (TEAM): Thank the Customer Engage with the customer and/or pet Advise on products or services Make it Memorable Perform a combination of duties during 95% of your day, including: Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures Merchandise recovery Participate in freight process Complete Plan-o-gram procedures Assemble merchandise Perform janitorial duties Execute price changes/markdowns Assist customers with loading purchases Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, sanitize and maintain holding tanks Complete all related documentation Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Experience: No experience required. Retail and/or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately. Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities Pet/live animal, pet food, and product knowledge Strong communication and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills Strong interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution Working Conditions Generally indoor environment with moderate noise Hard surfaces, adequate lighting and temperature Shifts generally no less than 4 hours, may exceed 8 hours Maintain a safe and productive environment following safety guidelines Physical Requirements Non-sedentary role Ability to move quickly and safely throughout store and outdoor areas Operate equipment safely and efficiently Occasionally lift or reach overhead Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders frequently Move throughout the store for entire shift Access all store areas safely Operate store equipment and process information accurately Transfer merchandise and live animals weighing up to 50 pounds Complete all training and certifications Disclaimer This overview is not exhaustive.
