Classroom Assistant

Position Summary Manages a YSLLP middle school classroom on select days. Tutors students. Occasionally assists with student recruitment for YSLLP programming. Collects data. Responsibilities Checks attendance every period and maintains accurate records in YSLPP room Checks school attendance against YSLPP attendance and reports discrepancies to the main office Maintains orderly environment Tutors students in math, science and all other core subjects Occasionally coordinates/participates in community service activities and keeps accurate records for each student's community service hours May perform other related duties as assigned Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required, pursuing secondary education certification or Master's degree preferred. Skills/Abilities Ability to tutor middle school subject levels Multi-tasking Strong organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to relate to students of all ages and ethnic groups Strong computer skills Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license that will meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria, preferred Supervisory Responsibility On-site tutors Driving Responsibility This position may occasionally involve travel using a University owned or University rented vehicle Additional Information Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
