Orthodontics Dental Assistant

Join our dynamic and thriving dental practice as an Orthodontics Dental Assistant with Great Expressions Dental Centers! We’re looking for a motivated and energetic team member who is ready to make a positive impact on our patients while working in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.

Position Schedule:

• Monday & Tuesday: Pediatric Dental Assistant

• Wednesday & Thursday: Orthodontic Dental Assistant

What We’re Looking For:

• Orthodontic Dental Assistant experience is required.

• Pediatric Dental Assistant experience is preferred but not required - we are happy to provide training.

Please note: While we are willing to train on the pediatric side, candidates must have prior orthodontic dental assisting experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
• Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
• Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately

Requirements:

Before applying, it is imperative that you meet the state requirements outlined below.

• Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
• Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays).
• Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
• Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations.
• Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it.
• New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training.
• New York: Not applicable.
• Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
• Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners.
