Tax Manager [Commercial Services Group]

Tax Manager – New Jersey This position is a hybrid role based in our New Jersey office. Team members are expected to collaborate in person in the office approximately three days a week.

YOUR TEAM

Support the Commercial Services Industry Group, which serves clients in Consumer, Hospitality, and Manufacturing & Distribution sectors.

YOUR ROLE

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the Commercial Services Industry group. Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service. Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress. Review partnership and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness. Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance. Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities and guidance. Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members. Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements. Actively participate in proposal development, at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal. Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking. Lead by example.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred. CPA, JD or EA required. Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience. 2+ years of managerial experience. Current experience with commercial services clients. Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills. Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including ProSystem, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement. Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi‑task. In New Jersey, the salary range for a Tax Manager is $105,000 to $175,000.
