First Day Homecare® is looking for a dedicated and compassionate LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to provide one-on-one skilled nursing care for pediatric clients in the comfort of their homes.

Current Pediatric Opportunities:

• Chelsea: 16-year-old seeking overnight staffing

• Ypsilanti: 2-year-old seeking Tuesday and Thursday day shifts to attend school

• Dexter: 4-year-old seeking overnight staffing

Schedules and hours may vary based on the client’s needs and authorized services.

Job Summary

The LPN performs skilled nursing services in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, professional standards, and the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Nursing services are provided under the direction of a medical practitioner and according to the client’s orders and individualized plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care according to the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide care according to medical practitioner orders and the client’s plan of care.
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Provide personal care, client education, emergency intervention, and monitoring as appropriate.
• Provide specialized pediatric care based on client needs, including tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings when applicable.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team.
• Promote a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Follow Agency policies, procedures, clinical standards, and applicable payer requirements.
• Participate in coordination of care, meetings, and training as requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Automobile insurance meeting state and/or Agency requirements.
• Pediatric or private duty nursing experience preferred but not required for all positions. Training may be provided based on client needs.
