Yard Worker / Yard Associate Wholesale Distributor – Water, Sewer, Storm & Septic Products Location: Cold Spring Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Worker to join our wholesale distribution team. This position is responsible for maintaining an organized yard and warehouse, operating forklifts and material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, assisting customers and drivers, and helping maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of both the yard and office facilities. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely Pull, stage, and verify customer orders accurately Assist customers and contractors with pickups and product loading Receive incoming inventory and verify shipments against packing slips Organize and maintain inventory in the yard and warehouse Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, warehouse, and storage areas Help maintain the office building and property, including general upkeep, cleanup, and light maintenance tasks Keep work areas clean, safe, and free of hazards Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Work closely with warehouse, sales, and delivery staff to support daily operations Qualifications Prior forklift, warehouse, yard, or construction supply experience preferred Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts and equipment Strong organizational and inventory management skills Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Valid driver’s license preferred Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained) Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, bending, standing, walking, and climbing Ability to safely handle heavy and oversized materials Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round Schedule Full-time Monday–Friday Overtime available during busy seasons Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance options Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan opportunities Stable, long-term employment opportunity About Us We are a wholesale distributor serving contractors, municipalities, and utility professionals with water, sewer, storm drainage, and septic products throughout the region.
