Electrophysiology Specialist

This is a 13-week contract position.

4x10 shift, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Float may be required as needed.

The Electrophysiology Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering direct patient care within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, Catheterization Lab, and Catheterization Lab Holding area. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, safe, and culturally competent patient care through comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, evaluation, medication administration, and timely interventions. The position supports collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes during procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in diagnostic, interventional, and acute procedures while maintaining strict asepsis and responding promptly to emergencies.
• Prepare specialty EP equipment for accurate diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Utilize physiologic monitoring and EP-specific monitoring systems to assess patient conditions during procedures.
• Provide effective care in the circulating role during elective and emergency procedures, prioritizing the needs of patients and providers.
• Cross-train in multiple departments and assists in lab functions to support efficient departmental operations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care and effective communication.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• RCIS and/or RCES certification is required.
• Proficiency in arrhythmia induction, cardioversion, AICD insertion/programming, and pacemaker insertion.
• Experience with cardiac ablation, mapping, and conduction studies is preferred.
• Epic charting system experience is required.
