Safety Coordinator – 1st Shift :  Sterling , Illinois
Our customer in Sterling, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented  Safety Coordinator to support quality management and workplace safety initiatives. This position plays a key role in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), coordinating safety training, conducting audits, managing documentation, and supporting continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.

Responsibilities of the  Safety Coordinator :

• Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) and associated documentation.
• Ensure quality documents align with established standards and document architecture.
• Manage document change control processes, including stakeholder review and approval workflows.
• Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of quality management processes.
• Perform supplier and external audits as required.
• Support departments with document control and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate safety programs, training initiatives, and company safety meetings.
• Create, update, and maintain safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Promote and support workplace safety awareness across all departments.
• Participate in inventory activities as needed.
• Maintain 5S standards by supporting organization, cleanliness, and visual controls.
• Assist with special projects and other duties that support organizational goals.

Safety Coordinator   Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
• Minimum of two years of experience working within a formal Quality Management System.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Experience using standard office equipment, including printers, copiers, scanners, and multi-line phones.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Customer service mindset with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.  

Pay for  Safety Coordinator : $24.49-$30.61/hour
