What’s In It For You: Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as an Equipment Project Manager in our Tampa, FL Commercial Sales Office! You will manage all aspects of equipment projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while working with a team to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Trane always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy efficient buildings! You will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget. Must have great communication skills, organizational skills, follow up and strong ability to multitask on different tasks and computer systems. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, will have a strong sense of urgency, and learn quickly through hands‑on/job shadow training with ability to learn in a fast paced, high‑volume environment. Experience in financial management/project budgeting required. Construction industry experience preferred. Note: This is not a traditional Construction Project Manager position – this position will be based in‑office, and does not entail travel to job sites or to customers. This is not a technical position, but administrative and financial in nature. You would be managing the daily tasks of given projects working closely with internal and external customers. What You Will Do: Perform construction schedule reviews to meet customer requirements. Generate ship status reports to provide details of product lead times and overall project status. Coordinate selection, pricing, and integrate equipment, controls, and services for each project. Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolve major deviations from scope with the team after Project Scope Validation. Maintain the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion. Create and make revisions to project schedules, including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones. Prepare Trane material and vendor orders; record receipt of materials and approve payments. Enter equipment orders and issue purchase orders for vendor orders. Generate work orders for equipment start‑ups. Manage project cash‑flow management: progress billing, collection support, monitoring, and resource management. Work with customers, warehouses, and claims to handle freight‑damaged equipment or missing freight. Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff. Ensure the successful transition of warranty to the service process. What You Will Bring: Bachelor’s degree in finance or business management with 3‑5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred. Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge of operating HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls. Financial management and budgeting background required. Experience with Microsoft software, Teams, and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.
