The G20/H22   Neurological Intensive Care Unit provides complex neurological medical and surgical services. As a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, this floor offers medical support for numerous conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subdural hematomas, status epilepticus/seizures, brain tumors, neuromuscular disorders and spinal injuries. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. Within the Neurological Institute, you benefit from extensive hands-on experience using the latest technologies and insight from the best caregivers in the field. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  Provide direct nursing care. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

\n

\n \n \n

\n

\n

\n
• \n

  Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Educate patients and their families.   

\n

\n \n

\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program) 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross 

\n

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience 

\n

\n \n

\n

 

\n \n

\n

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

\n \n

\n

\n
• \n

  Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

\n

\n \n

\n

 

\n \n \n

Physical Requirements:

\n

\n
• \n

  Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

\n
• \n

  Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

\n
• \n

  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

\n
• \n

  Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

\n
• \n

  Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

\n
• \n

  Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

\n
• \n

  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

\n

\n

  Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $35.50

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $55.60

\n

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
