Sterile Processing Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

5x8 Nights - Monday to Friday (21:00 - 04:30; no weekends)

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of patient care and safety within the healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and sterilizing equipment, including crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps.
• Performing high-level disinfection (HLD) and using washers/sterilizers.
• Assembling sets/trays and documenting sterilization processes.
• Selecting appropriate wrapping materials and following sterilization wrapping procedures.
• Testing and monitoring steam sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators.
• Participating in infection control practices and contributing to team performance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in sterile processing preferred; 2 years is a plus.
• Certification required: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA).
• Ability to work nights and adhere to the established shift schedule.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes and adherence to safety protocols.
• References required covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years.
