Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Description: Position overview in the medical/surgical telemetry unit. The start date is flexible based on availability. The shift is night, working three 12-hour shifts each week. Telemetry experience is required. Candidates must be proficient in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias; a test will be given. Patient ratios on days are approximately 1:3-4 and 1:4-5 on nights. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. You will be required to work four weekend shifts each month. Additional certifications in ACLS are preferred. No on-call requirement for this position. Staff may float to other medical/surgical telemetry units as needed. Block scheduling is not available for this role. Locals are accepted with no specific radius rule. The patient population primarily consists of adults and geriatrics. This unit manages a variety of medical and telemetry patients, including those needing chemotherapy. Special procedures are rare but may include central line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, or chest tube insertion. Daily census typically ranges around 32 patients. The team consists of various interdisciplinary support staff, including therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Candidates should have experience with Epic charting systems. Compliance with training requirements prior to starting is essential. References will be required upon application submission. Modules may be required for training and orientation.
