Interventional Radiology Technologist – Interventional Radiology Location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Ft. Worth, TX 76104. Work hours: Monday–Friday 7:30–18:00. Four‑hour weekends occur every five weeks. The position requires on‑call duties, which are self‑scheduled. You must be within thirty minutes of the hospital. On‑call schedule includes two primary weeks and two backup weeks within a thirteen‑week cycle. Sign‑on Bonus: Eligible new hires may receive a sign‑on bonus. Department Overview Our experienced, compassionate team performs minimally invasive procedures using imaging guidance (x‑ray, MRI, ultrasound). The IR suite supports vascular, neuroendovascular, and electrophysiology procedures. Key Responsibilities Operate fluoroscopy, CT, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuro‑vascular angiographic and interventional procedures. Assist with patient positioning, sterile technique, and post‑processing of images. Perform radiation safety checks and patient teaching. Prepare sterile supply trays and manage inventory during procedures. Pass guidewires, catheters, and sterile instruments. Coordinate schedules and manage inventory. Act in both scrub and case‑shoot roles. Provide patient care within scope of practice for all ages from newborn to geriatric. Maintain a flexible work schedule with four 10‑hour shifts and rotating days off. Accept self‑assigned primary and backup call dates. Education & Experience Associate Degree in Applied Science, or completion of an accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology, or a high‑school diploma with two years of relevant work experience. Required Licensure & Certifications ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (upon hire required). GMRT – General Medical Radiologic Technologist (preferred if ARRT only). RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (obtain within 6 months of hire if graduate from accredited program); required. RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (for electrophysiology labs only); preferred if RCIS only. BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (maintained quarterly). ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of hire). Preferred Qualifications Previous IR radiology technician experience preferred. One year of vascular or cardiac angiography experience preferred. Two years of experience with high school diploma required.
