Failure Analysis Engineer

Masimo, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Failure Analysis Engineer to investigate returned and prototype medical devices and sensors. The role involves performing root cause analysis using electrical testing equipment and analytical instruments to identify failures at system, circuit board, and component levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis on Masimo devices, cables, and sensors using engineering principles and techniques
• Analyze and troubleshoot electronic circuits at system, module, and component levels using schematics and layouts
• Investigate products utilizing analytical instruments including X-ray, microscopy, thermal imaging, and spectroscopy

Requirements

• 1+ year of quality control testing experience
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Working knowledge of electromechanical product troubleshooting using electrical test equipment
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, microscopes, and related diagnostic instruments
• Experience with circuit board and component level failure analysis (preferred)
• FDA regulatory knowledge (preferred)

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 base; 10% target bonus
