Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment while supporting critical medical interventions and patient assessments.

Shift Details

3x12-hour shifts
Night shift: 19:00 - 07:30

Floating Requirements

The successful candidate may be required to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs, including support for overflow patients.

Weekend Requirement

Every other weekend is required
Approximately 6 weekend shifts per contract

Patient Ratios

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4, which may increase to 1:4–5 based on patient acuity and staffing levels.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience
At least 1 year of Level II trauma experience (hard stop)
Level I trauma experience is preferred
Experience caring for all age groups is required; adult-only ED experience will not be accepted

ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
PALS
TNCC
Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG assessment
Annual stroke education requirements are applicable

Scheduling

Block scheduling options are not available; scheduling will be managed based on operational needs.

Licensure Requirements

A Maryland RN license is required upon submission.

Time Off Policy

Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests are permitted per contract.

Unit Information

This is a 73-bed Emergency Department that averages approximately 200 visits per day. The patient population includes neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The department supports various services, including a dedicated Pediatric ED and behavioral health services.

Additional Experience Requirements

Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department experience is required
Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience is necessary
Experience in blood product administration, phlebotomy, and IV management is expected
IV vasopressor and CVA experience are required
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation is essential
Triage experience is preferred

Charting System

Charting will be performed using Cerner FirstNet.
