Job Title: Senior Linux Systems Administrator – Ansible / Cisco SDN – NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

Location: Huntsville, AL (on-site at NASA MSFC)
Type: Full time
Salary: $80,000 – $88,000 + excellent benefits

About the Role
Altech Solutions is hiring a Mid-Level Linux Systems Administrator to support enterprise IT systems at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. This is a hands-on, Linux-first role. Most of the work centers on DNS/DDI servers, with a strong emphasis on automation through Ansible and scripting.

What You’ll Do

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux/RHEL servers in a NASA operational environment
• Support DNS/DDI infrastructure
• Automate configuration, deployment, and maintenance tasks using Ansible and scripting
• Work with Cisco Software Defined Networking as part of day-to-day system support
• Support the small portion of the environment that runs on VMware
• Perform patching, upgrades, backups, and routine audits to keep systems compliant with NASA IT policies
• Monitor and tune systems for performance and reliability
• Write and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system diagrams
• Work closely with network engineers, application teams, and other administrators to resolve issues

What We Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of professional systems administration experience
• Strong Linux/RHEL administration skills
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Working knowledge of Cisco Software Defined Networking
• Experience with DNS/DDI servers
• Some VMware experience

Preferred

• Red Hat certification (RHCSA/RHCE) and/or CompTIA Security+
• Experience supporting government, aerospace, or NASA environments
• Current Public Trust clearance

Requirements

• US citizenship is required. This position supports a federal contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• This is an on-site position at NASA MSFC. You must live within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL. Relocation is not provided.
