Work Environment

Situated in a hospital setting, our Shrewsbury location offers a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Here, you will work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, who are all dedicated to providing holistic care to our patients. The facility ensures a high standard of clinical excellence, safety, and patient satisfaction while allowing you to engage in continuous professional learning and improvement. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist, focusing on reaching specific rehabilitation goals.
• Assist patients during therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training exercises, ensuring proper techniques are followed to enhance recovery.
• Administer various modalities, such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, to facilitate patient healing processes.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, updating the supervising Physical Therapist on any changes in patient conditions.
• Provide educational resources to patients about injury prevention techniques and develop comprehensive home exercise programs tailored to individual recovery needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare professionals, ensuring coordinated care and treatment plans for patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with patients undergoing rehabilitation from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Our patient population ranges from young athletes recovering from injuries to older adults aiming to regain mobility and independence after surgeries or illnesses. By understanding the diverse backgrounds and needs of our patients, the PTA plays a critical role in enhancing patient experiences and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey.
• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, with a strong preference for experience in outpatient orthopedic settings.
• Proficiency in therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy techniques and patient education practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, emphasizing a patient-centered approach to care.
