Junior Software Developer

Salary: $60,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements:

• We need someone with working knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, backed by something real they have built such as a job, internship, or personal project they can discuss.
• We expect familiarity with SQL and relational databases, along with a desire to learn how to keep queries efficient as data grows.
• We are looking for experience building with React, preferably Next.js.
• We value comfort using AI-assisted development tools while still following strong engineering discipline.
• We want someone who is willing to ask questions early instead of going silent when they get stuck.
• Nice-to-have experience includes tRPC, Fastify, or similar typed API layers.
• Nice-to-have experience also includes Docker and modern deployment workflows, ideally with Render.
• Experience with Stripe or other payment systems is a plus.
• Exposure to data pipelines or ETL is a bonus.
• A CS degree, a bootcamp, or no formal background is all acceptable; we care most about what you can do.
• We are hiring only in the Phoenix Metro area and this role requires in-person work in Tempe, AZ.

• We build and maintain backend services and APIs, with guidance on design decisions.
• We work on our Next.js and tRPC frontends, including customer-facing pages and internal dashboards.
• We write SQL against large datasets and learn how to keep queries fast or identify bottlenecks.
• We fix bugs and deliver improvements across the product.
• We review pull requests carefully, and we begin reviewing others work as the developer grows.
• We take smaller projects from concept through production.
• We collaborate closely with senior engineers who review code and provide support when needed.

We collect review data at scale, score each business, rank it against local competitors, and spotlight top performers in their market. Our engineering team is small, with four engineers, and we build and maintain everything in house, including data pipelines, web applications, payment flows, internal tools, and infrastructure. This is an onsite role in the Phoenix area, based in Tempe, AZ, with a salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience.
