Real Estate Attorney

The Opportunity A leading global law firm is expanding its Construction and Real Estate practices and is conducting a confidential search for attorneys at several levels — from entry-level associate through senior transactional counsel. Successful candidates will work directly with seasoned partners and industry‑leading clients on high‑impact, often cross‑border matters spanning transactional work, dispute resolution, and day‑to‑day project and deal counseling. This is a strong platform for attorneys who want hands‑on client contact early, exposure to sophisticated real estate and construction matters, and a clear path toward growing (or eventually leading) a practice group. What You'd Be Doing Drafting and negotiating construction agreements — design‑build, EPC, development, and design agreements, using AIA and other industry‑standard forms Leading or supporting real estate due diligence (including in the M&A context): leases, title, surveys, zoning, and property agreements Structuring, negotiating, and closing commercial and residential real estate transactions — acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing Advising on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and compliance Resolving construction disputes (defect and delay claims) through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation Preparing due diligence reports, risk assessments, and closing deliverables Direct client engagement as a trusted advisor from project/deal inception through completion Who We're Looking For Entry‑Level — Strong academic credentials and a genuine interest in real estate/construction law; no prior experience required. Mid‑Level (3–5 years) — Real estate and/or construction transactional or litigation experience; prior law firm experience required; construction‑specific experience valued but not mandatory. Senior (5+ years) — Deep transactional real estate experience, including drafting/negotiating major transaction documents, lease and title review, and (ideally) M&A process familiarity. Practice Leadership Track (8+ years) — Established commercial and residential real estate practitioner able to manage transactions independently, mentor junior attorneys, and help build/succeed into practice leadership; portable book of business a plus but not required. Locations: NYC DC Boston Chicago Los Angeles San Franciso Houston Dallas Atlanta Las Vegas Miami Charlotte All candidates should bring: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce clear, persuasive work product Strong analytical and organizational skills; comfort managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment A collaborative, client‑focused mindset and willingness to work as part of an integrated team Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school Active law license in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction Prior Am Law 100 law firm experience required for mid-level and senior roles Resume, writing sample, and law school transcript requested with application Compensation Base salary ranges vary by level and location — competitive with market for a leading global firm; $230,000–$485,000, plus full benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and discretionary bonus).
