Job Title: Metal Coil Line Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Coil Line Operator to manage the loading of metal coils using a hi-lo, feeding the coil into the line, and ensuring that the machine trims the coil to customer specifications. This role involves inspecting the trimmed coil, tagging it accurately based on gauge and material, and ensuring the line runs smoothly.

Compensation

• Starts at $19.50
• quarterly raises of $0.60, amounting to $2.40 annually
• Position hourly wage does not cap until $29.26

Responsibilities

• Load metal coils onto the production line using a hi-lo.
• Feed coils into the line for machine trimming according to customer specifications.
• Inspect trimmed coils and tag them appropriately based on gauge and material.
• Push and pull bins containing large metal coils.
• Operate and maintain equipment efficiently.
• Train to pull up orders on the computer and run the line independently.

Essential Skills

• 3+ recent years of machine operation experience that requires setup, or a background in welding, fabrication, or mechanics.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing and pulling bins.
• Willingness to work independently.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must score at least 70% on the Bennett Mechanical test.
• Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in operating hi-lo equipment.
• Mechanical skills related to loading and unloading metal products.

Work Environment

This position is set in a manufacturing environment where you will encounter loud noises and operate among multiple hi-lo vehicles and metal products. The role requires a willingness to work the third shift from 11 PM to 7 AM, with a schedule that includes every other Saturday and Sunday.

This is a Permanent position based out of Holly, MI.

The pay range for this position is $40560.00 - $40560.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
