Purchasing Coordinator (Hybrid | Southfield, MI)

 $21/hour | Long-Term Contract Opportunity

Location: Southfield, MI (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 remote)

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) Monday- Friday
Flexible start times:

• 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and fast-paced Purchasing Coordinator  to support a busy supply chain team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment , enjoys staying organized, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities at once.

You’ll play a key role in helping ensure purchase orders are tracked, updated, and delivered on time by working closely with suppliers and internal teams.

 What You’ll Do

• Manage and organize high-volume email inboxes (primary responsibility)
• Track and confirm purchase orders (POs)
• Follow up with suppliers on order status and shipments
• Investigate and resolve issues such as delays, backorders, and missing items
• Update order information in internal systems (ERP/AS400)
• Use Excel to track orders and requests (training provided for advanced functions)
• Communicate regularly with team members and escalate issues when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced work environments
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to manage large volumes of emails and requests efficiently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Excel knowledge (sorting, tracking, data entry)
• Comfortable learning new systems (ERP experience is a plus)

Preferred Backgrounds

• Purchasing / procurement support
• Logistics or supply chain coordination
• Order entry / order processing
• Customer service (especially B2B or high-volume environments)
