CA Brawley, CA 92227, USA Description Labor and Delivery Nurses Needed... Up to $ 15,000 Sign On Bonus! Description Assisting obstetricians and midwives during delivery. Providing care for women in labor through pain management , coaching and ongoing fetal monitoring. Assessing and monitoring newborn health after delivery, including measuring vital signs and performing routine assessments.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Labor Nurse Does initial and continuous assessment. Interprets and reads the fetal monitor. Monitors contractions Assess patient and fetal VS Administered medication. Identify complications during labor and delivery Communicates the mom’s condition and needs to the Physician Coaches mom during labor and delivery Cares for the mom and infant throughout labor, birth, and immediate postpartum phase. Circulate C-Section and recover them Checks patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression /lack of dilation. Cares for patient on Pitocin, MgSO4 and continues lumbar epidural. Couplet Care Nurse Assumes responsibility for both mother and baby Monitors VS of mom and baby Performs routine tests for baby Assess for any signs or symptoms that indicate complications of childbirth Communicate with physician and pediatrician regarding mom and baby Take care of postpartum readmission, post operative GYN Recovers C-Section or vaginal delivery patients

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Must have current RN licensure in the State of California. Current AHA BLS required upon hire. ACLS, NRP and PALS certification as required by Department. Qualifications: Education Required: Associates degree in nursing required, BSN preferred. Experience Preferred :1 year: Labor & Delivery, OB, Couplet Care Experience, strongly preferred Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
