Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Night Shift Team as a Neuro Stepdown RN!

Job Description:
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Work Style: Team-oriented approach, meeting behavioral expectations in interactions with patients and staff.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years in Neuro Stepdown or related PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown & Telemetry.
- Neuro experience is a must; first-time travelers are not accepted.
- Essential Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Epic experience required
- Must be able to titrate LEVO
- Clinical Skills Required:
- Cardiac Monitoring: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry experience
- IV Therapy & Phlebotomy: Central line care, peripheral line management.
- Gastrointestinal & Genitourinary: Feeding tube management, CBI, hemodialysis management.
- Neurological: Aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA care, management of seizures, traumatic brain injury.
- Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy management.
- Professional Practices: Isolation precautions, wound care.
- Patient Care:
- Focus on intermediate population with specialized neurological and medical needs.
- Patient ratios of 1:4 with an average daily census of 24 patients in a 24-bed unit.
- Floater Requirement:
- Flexibility to float to other intermediate areas as needed.
- Weekend Commitment:
- Minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks required.
- Orientation:
- 32 hours; including an 8-hour computer class and additional shifts on the unit.
- Scrubs:
- Navy blue and white (not provided).
