Registered Nurse (RN)The RN is responsible for delivering direct patient care across three critical areas within surgical services: Pre-operative, Operating Room (OR) Circulation, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate must possess experience in all three areas and function effectively as a primary caregiver.Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments and documenting care accurately, providing emotional support and education to patients and families, coordinating patient transfers and assisting with medication administration, circulating surgical cases and recovering patients in PACU, assisting in processing instruments and equipment in the central sterilizing unit, adhering to infection control protocols and departmental policies, and staying informed on national standards through IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN guidelines.Work schedule is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week. Shift hours typically run from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional late shifts and rotational call coverage on weekends and holidays. Availability for holiday coverage is required.Qualifications include current Colorado RN licensure, a minimum of 3 years of experience in Pre-op, OR Circulation, and PACU is preferred, ACLS certification is required; CNOR certification and scrub experience are preferred.Special demands include the ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations while maintaining communication with a diverse range of individuals. Physically, this role requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as the capability to lift heavy objects. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential infectious diseases is inherent to the position.The RN reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager and/or designated personnel.
