Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a transformative role serving students at a dynamic dropout recovery and prevention program in the Westerville, OH area. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a start date of August 3, 2026, and an end date of June 25, 2027, offering a full-time, 40-hour work week. Work directly with youth ages 15–21, helping them achieve high school diplomas and career skills that will open doors after graduation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Ohio
- Previous experience working with high-school-aged students, ideally within nontraditional or alternative education settings
- Strong commitment to meeting the needs of students with diverse learning profiles
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Ability to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans tailored to diverse learner needs
- Deliver instruction in both academic subjects and career/technical readiness
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that cultivates student success
- Collaborate with counselors, paraprofessionals, support staff, and families to ensure each student’s academic and personal growth
- Track and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed to encourage graduation and post-school employment
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain all required documentation
