Job Title Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Essential Job Functions Conducts a requisite number of classes; Teaches assignedsubjects Provides guidance and supervision to students Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence inteaching, learning and research Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/hersubject(s) Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduledoffice hours Maintains equipment in the laboratory, makes arrangements forlaboratory practical sessions, and provides materials tostudents Provides academic support to other faculty members Serves on departmental and University committees, asassigned Demonstrates grantsmanship and ability to publish in peerreview journals Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Economics, AppliedEconomics, or Economics with background in Agriculture orAgribusiness Five (5) years’ teaching experience at the college oruniversity level Knowledge Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of agricultural economics andagribusiness Demonstrated integrity Excellent communication skills, verbal, written andinterpersonal Strong time management skills Passion for teaching and engaging with students Skilled in mentoring students Ability to work well with colleagues and foster a collegialenvironment conducive to teamwork and students’ high level oflearning #J-18808-Ljbffr Alcorn State University
