Job Title: Hydroform Operator

Job Description

As a Hydroform Operator, you set up, operate, and monitor hydroforming equipment to produce high-quality metal components that meet precise customer specifications. You align workpieces, control pressure and height settings, perform routine preventative maintenance, and ensure a clean and organized work area while following established safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Align workpieces accurately on the hydroform machine according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Set up and operate hydroforming presses and related equipment to perform the required metal forming operations.
• Monitor pressure gauges, height settings, and machine indicators to ensure equipment runs within specified parameters.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality and consistency of formed parts.
• Inspect parts visually and using standard measuring equipment to confirm they meet customer requirements and specifications.
• Follow documented work instructions and production procedures to ensure consistent, repeatable results.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times by following 5S methods.
• Perform required preventative maintenance on assigned presses within specified time frames.
• Ensure all preventative maintenance is completed in accordance with the established PM schedule.
• Handle small, delicate parts carefully while performing inspections and measurements.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment as required in a manufacturing shop.
• Participate in on-the-job training to continuously improve skills related to hydroforming and machine operation.
• Operate a forklift safely when moving materials, workpieces, or finished parts as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, or equipment concerns.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated experience for Level 1 Hydroform Operator.
• 2–5 years of demonstrated hydroforming or closely related machine operation experience for Level 2 Hydroform Operator.
• 5 or more years of demonstrated hydroforming or closely related machine operation experience for Level 3 Hydroform Operator.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints in English.
• Ability to interpret pressure gauges, height settings, and other machine indicators.
• Manual dexterity to handle small, delicate parts while using hand-held standard measuring equipment.
• Experience with metal forming, fabrication, and production environments.
• Proficiency in operating presses and related metal forming machinery.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance on presses and follow a PM schedule.
• Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely.
• Ability to sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required by job tasks.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Capability to drive and operate a forklift safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating hydroform presses or similar metal forming equipment.
• Experience in press brake operation or other press-based forming processes.
• Familiarity with 5S and other workplace organization methods in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working with standard measuring tools for dimensional inspection.
• Willingness to receive continuous on-the-job training to expand technical skills.
• Attention to detail and strong focus on part quality and customer requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing shop on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $70720.00/yr.
