Quality Control Inspector I

The Quality Control Inspector I is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, or processes meet established quality standards before they reach customers. They inspect, test, and measure products, identify defects, document findings, and work with production teams to resolve quality issues. They verify compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and safety standards, helping maintain consistent product quality and improve manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

1. Understanding of basic GD&T (blueprint reading)
2. Mechanical/dimensional inspection of a diverse product lines
3. Review/audit of required documentation: CoC, CoA, FAIR
4. Write DMRs (Defective Material Reports) as needed and coordinates RTV Tracker (Return to Vendor)
5. Use measuring and monitoring equipment (calipers, height gages, pin gages, vernier's, etc.)
6. Coordinate with Material Review Board, Planning, Purchasing or Quality Engineering as needed to resolve open issues
7. Review of COCs (Certificates of Conformance), Purchase Orders and Test documents to ensure completion accuracy
8. Inspect parts during in-process production and proactively communicate errors and systemic trends to the supervisor
9. Participate in cross-training activities as both a trainer and trainee, as needed
10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects
11. Participate in audits, including safety, internal, customer, and third-party audits
12. Support special projects and other assignments as directed by management

Qualifications

• No experience is required in area of responsibility
• High School Diploma or GED
