Job Title Assistant Athletic Trainer Job Location Macon, GA 31207 Responsibilities Provide athlete‑centered, evidence‑based, comprehensive health care for student‑athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics Work in conjunction with a variety of approved healthcare providers Coordinate athletic training services with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, academics, and administration Comply with HIPAA regulations, university policy, and NCAA compliance Adhere to the values and beliefs of Mercer University, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Code of Ethics, BOC Standards of Professional Practice, and Georgia state regulations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited institution, with prior experience in an athletic training program BOC certification and eligibility for Georgia Licensure for Athletic Training Master’s degree in athletic training or a related field, dry needle certification, and/or IV certification are desirable Valid driver’s license and insurability by the university’s carrier Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Examination, assessment, and diagnosis of injury or illness to determine appropriate course of action Implement rehabilitation protocols and use therapeutic modalities and exercise in sport‑related injury or illness Assess readiness for safe return to play Coordinate medical appointments and manage athletic training facility Benefits This is a 12‑month position that includes benefits.
